The Christmas Tree Is Down! :-(

We took our Christmas Tree down yesterday for family night. It was sad! We usually have it up until after the 1st but we are going to be busy with Macie's baptism on Saturday. We are very excited for her!

We were so busy before Christmas that we didn't post any pictures of us even getting the tree. Here is a late post of our tree hunting experience.

There was a little snow but it was a very nice day.

No we are not going to dig up the tree. These are "walking sticks" for the boys. It was really hard, crusted snow.

The kids were very excited to be up in the mountains and in the snow. Not something we see a lot of here in our part of the country.

This is ended up to be our perfect tree! It was about 13 ft tall and very bushy. It was beautiful!

This is the price you have to pay to get the "perfect tree". I slipped in the icy snow and stopped my fall with my face. Bec sure looks great! I am a lucky guy!

Macie is going to get someone, or two people with snowballs.

Daniel fell down in the icy snow in the same place as I did with the same results!

The tree loaded and ready to go!

The family with our prize tree!

Here is the tree in our house! It takes up a lot of the front room!

Putting the lights on. It takes two ladders and good balance to get them up to the top!

Here is the finished product. There are alot of stories with all those ornaments! This was a great tree!

We had a great Christmas! Sorry for this beautiful tree to go, but now it is time to for the new year! Happy new year everyone!

Thanks for sharing the Christmas tree hunting experiences. I'm sorry you and Daniel had to fall. You're right; Bec is beautiful!!! Now, where are Christmas morning pictures and pictures of everyone playing the Wii?

So glad to see a post on your blog! Good for you guys for still going out to the mountains to get your tree. We quit doing that about 6 years ago and bought our pre-lit tree and just go to the storage room to get it! The picture of you guys on the ladders gave me anxiety! We have had too many ladder mishaps this year! Glad you didn't fall! Miss you guys!! Happy New Year!
