Ornament Making

Decorating ornaments has been a tradition sense i was a child making salt dough ornament with my family. I was famous for making a black angel at the age of 4. Daniel did one just like me this year and made a black gingerbread man. We make our ornament's from wood. about 90% of the ornament's on our tree have been homemade over the past 18 Christmases! enjoy the mess!

Santa Comes a Knocking!

One evening a week or so before Christmas there was a loud knock on the door. I was thinking it may be someone dropping treats and running it was so loud. So i wasn't expecting to see anyone at all when I opened the door.Opening the door, I let out a scream because standing in the dark was SANTA! And at the same time I was screeching he was saying HO HO HO! It was Nick Sorensen~ he is 11! well almost 12. He was laughing so hard and is Dad and sister hiding around the corner started laughing too! thanks Nick! You make a pretty adorable Santa!
Two days before Christmas we had another surprise! The Adams family came bearing treats and they also brought Santa along with them! This was a great Santa! Daniel didn't want to get to close for a while then when he finally got close enough he gave him a big hug then just hugged him the whole time the talked to him and would NOT look at him! Macie was not so shy! she was loving seeing him at our house! they both got what they asked for! thanks SANTA!

Macie Elizabeth is 7!

How does this keep happening to us? Our kids keep getting older and we are NOT! it is crazy phenomenon we have going on here at our house. For example Macie just turned 7 on the 15th of the month and we still feel like she was just born two days ago! We had a fun day of school and busy work. Monday's are Family Night Birthdays! And that is what Macie had this year no big party (every other year) just cake and ice cream and a few gifts. A few family friends came over to wish her love but mom didn't have to plan a single game or activity!
Macie we love you so much! Happy Birthday Punkin!

About 3 months ago Macie decided she wanted a Desk of her own in her room. she Drew up the plans and asked Braden if he would make it for her. He is in wood shop at school so he did it! He made it just how she drew it! He brought it home last week and has been secretly painting it in the garage. Here is macie Closing her eyes for the surprise and Braden and Trevor bring in the Desk. She was SO happy she is screaming in this picture. Be glad you cant hear! He Got Lots of hugs that night! i think he was a happy as her that she liked it! They love each other and it is so darn sweet!

Decorating The Tree!

Decorating the tree... Enjoy our photo journal of that fun day! We love our tree!

Trevor and Dallin put on the Lights the VERY HARD part of having a 12 foot Christmas tree!

The Traditional Cutting of the Tree!

Sense the first year Cam & I were married we have always cut down our Christmas tree. We have had a bad run the past few years and Cam has gone by him self with a friend to save a bit on gas prices! Well this year we decide that we would all be in it together again! We start out the tradition trying to save money on an amazing tree but end up spending a bit more on gas and food but the experience with the family is PRICELESS!! here are a few photos of the adventure!
Searching for the perfect tree! What an adventure! luckily this year was Beautiful!

All bundled up for the hunt! We were spoiled by a nice mid 50's sunny day in the California wild!

Our Tree of choice! it is beautiful in the house it was about 15 feet tall we got it home and had to cut more off to make it 12 feet for our living room. Mom & Daniel watching the tree get cut down! if felt good to sit for a minute!
What a trooper! Dad carried Daniel a lot so did Braden for that matter!
The whole family still smiling after cutting the tree, dragging it to the car, getting it situated on top then tying it down. It was fun and work! What a blast!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
