SURPRISE IT'S A PARTY

Friday Jan 23, 2009 We had a surprise party to celebrate Cameron's 40th! IT was SO MUCH FUN! Thanks so much to everyone who was able to come and for those who couldn't make it, we missed you! A HUGE Thanks for all those who helped me SO MUCH! Getting this ready and pulling it off! Planning a Surprise party is hard! I couldn't have done it alone! You are all amazing (you know who you are!)
Here is how it went down...
We had dinner at the Chances house at 6 then the plan was to get him to the church somehow for the party. Dinner went well as it was drawing closer to 7 Cam left the room and Rhonda says "how are we getting him out of here?" I said we will bring up seminary. So when Cam came back into the room we started talking about my lesson that morning then i worked in, "Oh no I left your stereo (Which i had purposefully left at the Church for this excuse) at the Church, I think I left it just sitting out!" Immediately Cameron says "OK I guess we are going to the church!" He took the bate so easily that I wondered if he knew or something. But i did have a stereo stolen earlier in the year so that is what he was thinking of. I just didn't know it would work so well!
We got into the car and drove over there. We pulled into the parking lot and saw all the cars, I say, "It looks like something is going on I hope the stereo is still here!" Then the one thing i did underestimate, my husbands ability to spot a car he knows! He starts to point out cars he recognized then says, "it looks like they are having a party and didn't invite us!" We all just start to get out and not laugh! Then we here Cameron, OH, No way, You are good!" YOU are Really GOOD!" We all laugh, "what are you talking about?" He figured it out but was very surprised!
So we go into the party it was AWESOME! everyone came dressed in BLACK to mourn the loss of Cameron's YOUTH! We had a lot of laughs from all the fun gift's he got. Then ate tons of great food! thanks so much everyone! Thanks Freyja for the CAKES!
We had so much fun playing BUNKO! Thanks Rhonda & Ron for setting that up! We got so way cute pictures of everyone I will add them here! Thanks everyone for the Love & Friendship!

Universal Studios Hollywood

Friday Jan. 9, 2009. Universal Studios Hollywood... Well after our last day in Disneyland we were DEAD tired! We went to bed knowing Universal would be next but SO tired. So we decided to sleep in and go when ever. Well we didn't sleep in to long but about an hour more than the last two days. We had a bit of a drive from Anaheim to Hollywood so we set out (Isn't GPS THE BEST, it saved us so much time every day!)

We got to Universal Studios about 10:30. The first thing we see is Frankenstein. I guess we should have known by that, that it is a little scary. We immediately saw Dora the Explorer too so kind of a big spectrum there. They do have a very cool kids play area with foam balls you suck up and shoot out of air guns it was great! But the next thing we came to was the House Of Horrors! We really were not thinking we all started walking in. A guy stopped us, Looking at Macie and Daniel and said this is a PG-13 rated attraction because people jump out at you! It was a scary haunted house. I don't know how we didn't get that from THE NAME! So I stayed out with them and the rest went in! We stood at the exit watching everyone come out all freaked out! Sure enough Adam came out nearly in tears! I guess some Big Lady (Cam thinks a guy dressed up as a lady) chased Adam out with and AX!
So when he had recovered from that we went down to go on the studio tour's. We had a 30min line to wait in so we said hey lets look at the map and decide what we should do today. A very nice worker over heard us and asked if we would like some help. So he told us all the must see things then he said "here come with me" He took us to the front of the line row that people pay extra for and we were able to save ourselves at LEAST 30 min in lines! We got right on the tram. We got to see Jaws, and lots of other cool things. At the Bates Motel we even saw Norman Bates putting something strangely resembling a body into his trunk! Then he came at the tram while pulling a knife! I dont know what the little kids were so scared of? We had to remind them a lot that it was NOT REAL! We saw a stunt man too. Then we went on the New Simpson's ride. it was pretty cool it was a big I-max style move, virtual reality ride it was cool!
The Sound stage show was the best. Cameron volunteered to be on stage so we all got front row seats for the show. Macie and Daniel were worried it would be scary and it was a bit. like the part where they chained Cameron up. then darkened the lights and When they came back on Cameron was gone and in his place was a skeleton. Daniel immediately stood up and says "Wheres DADDY!" over and over pretty loud. The audience laughed. then we got up and went to the next room. he did not want to leave till we found daddy! Then in the next room the MC says, "who is here with Cameron?" we all raise our hands, "Oh well who knows him best?" I raise my hand, He asks how I know him, "He's my husband" I say. He laughed and said, "Was your husband you mean." HA HA HA. We all laughed. then he made fun of me for laughing at my poor husband! Daniel didn't like any of this! Finally they brought Cameron back out Dan was very happy! Then they Cameron to demonstrate their trick knife! They get a big butcher knife out and start sawing off his arm! Blood gushing and everything. Daniel was screaming "NO, Their hurting Daddy!" "DADDY! DADDY!" So they stop and show everyone it was a fake knife that squirts fake blood. and Cameron was able to come sit with us. Daniel was more entertaining than the show!

We did a few rides and went to the Water World show which was Great! then headed out at 5pm when it closed. We were SO tired we weren't to disappointed it closed early. We drove around a while in Hollywood down Sunset Blvd, Hollywood BLVD and Rodeo Drive. It was unreal all the Amazing houses and the stars on the sidewalk and the POSH shops! We ate out and headed for BED!

Saturday January 10, 2009... We woke up and all stayed in bed till 10! we could have stayed in bed all day but had to check out by 12 so we had to get up. We went for a swim for 30 min in the amazing pool at the Hilton then packed up and were out by noon. We got home about 8:30 and Crashed in Bed! It was truly an amazing vacation and we are so glad we have the memories and photos to enjoy for years! Thanks for reading and enjoying with us! Love the Knudson's

Day Three in Disneyland/California Adventures

Thursday, January 8, 2009. Disneyland & California Adventure...We got to be let into the park an hour early today with our passes we had one "Magical Morning". We got there at 8:15 and were pretty close to the front of the line. We got to go in at 9am and see characters and ride rides before most of the crowd got there! Only Fantasy land and Tomorrow land were open but we had fun.

At 10 we headed over to CA Adventure for a while. Some of our favorites from there were, Soaring over CA. The 3D show, Ca Screaming Coaster! and Cam & Braden say the Tower of Terror but not me! The first thing we did was head for the Tower of terror for the ones who wanted to ride it. the rest of us did other more fun things. Cameron & Braden came off saying Bec you gotta try it! It is so fun! You have to try it at least once! (They are the devil huh!) So what do I do? I like an idiot tried it... JUST ONCE! It was not fun at all it was Terrifying! I will include a photo of me and Macie riding it and you can see from the look on our faces how much fun we were having being dropped 12 stories in and elevator! NOT ANY AT ALL if you cant tell! I wont be doing that ever again!

I however Loved the drawing lessons you can take. I could have spent all day there! We enjoyed Ca. Adventure very much. The family all rode the water ride except me. I had NO desire to get wet and was not going to give into peer pressure again. but they all had a blast.

We went back to Disneyland in the evening for one more ride of each of our favorites then we caught the FANTAZMIC SHOW at 7:30. It was amazing. That is one thing i noticed about Disney they never did anything half way everything was over the top musically, visually and Acting! It was a wonderful way to end a wonderful 3 days in Disneyland.

Then you know what we did for our last 10 min in Disneyland... We Ran to the King Arthur's Carousel and rode the last ride for the night. We ended out experience the same way we started it. With huge smiles on our faces!!! We walked very slowly out of the park savoring every moment! We walked a little through Down Town Disney, (the outdoor mall between the parks )then walked home. For a late dinner out at McDonald's! The little kids were happy, and we were happy to say that was the only time we had to eat there the whole trip!

Bed by 11pm we were not tired at all... we were EXHAUSTED! We were asleep so fast it was funny!
