Mission Beach

Monday Jan 5, 2009 Today we checked out of our hotel in San Diego and then headed to Mission Beach! We spent about 4 hours there playing in the water and sand. Braden brought the skim board he made in wood shop and they all had a blast playing on it. i will try to include the video i took of him using it. They also boogie boarded and did a little surfing. We had so much fun! We got there put our stuff down and we all ran for the water! I heard yells a few min later from random people walking by and looked back to our stuff to see a FLOCK of sea gulls attacking our pic-nic! Luckily a king gentleman was watching and ran over to save our stuff! WOW they were intense! we took a few photos of them when we fed them some pretzels later they were diving at us and catching them right out of the air! Daniel and Macie made a friend on the beach who shared his sand toys and they had a blast with him! I absolutely love the beach it is the most relaxing place to me!
When we had all changed we got back into the suburban and headed for Anaheim! We were SO excited to finally be there! We stayed at the Anaheim Hilton as I already mentioned. It was 2 blocks from Disneyland! We got all checked in and tried to sleep a little despite the excitement of finally going to Disneyland tomorrow! it was like Christmas all over!


I was looking through the photos and only found a few of Dallin close enough to see him. He spent almost the entire time out in the water boogie boarding!

San Diego Temple

If you have not been to this temple yet you need to make a trip to San Diego just to go! We went by the temple Saturday night with the kids so they could see it close up in the dark with the lights on! Here are a few of the comments. "Wow"! "It looks like a real castle, can I really get married there!?" It is so beautiful". It truly was breath taking!This is a picture of the sun through the clouds on our drive down to San Diego! it was so cool!

Sunday Jan. 4, 2008

Well we got to our new hotel in Anaheim and no free Internet so we didn't get to update the blog while away so here we go with a journal now. This will really be the journal for our trip so bear with me! By the way a side note, we booked both our Hotels through Price line and got AMAZING hotels at amazing prices! We stayed in San Diego at the Marriott for $60 a night and we decided to try a cheaper price and they accepted it so we stayed in Anaheim at the Hilton for $50 a night!
Sunday, 1/4/09...Today we went to church in the San Diego 8th ward. We enjoyed it very much! We added a lot to their primary and ym groups for the day! They were very nice. After Church we walked a block to Old Town San Diego and checked out all the shops it was nice and relaxing. Then we drove to BALBOA PARK... if you have never heard of this then Look it up on line it is AMAZING! we saw it from the zoo on sat. and heard there were a few museums there. I mainly wanted to go to see all the beautiful buildings I had been hearing about. Well I don't know the exact number but I would guess there are at least 1o to 20 museums there! and they are so beautiful we didn't go in any of them but had a blast walking around and taking photos of them, and each other. I will add photos soon.

The End Of A Great Day!

Tonight the kids, except Braden, and I went to the pool and had a swim. The pool is heated and feels O.K. if you don't get in the hot tub first. I made the mistake of getting in the hot tub first so the pool felt really cold. The kids didn't seem to notice the cold as they splashed me as I was trying to "easy" myself into the water. I braved it and got in and we had a blast splashing, swimming and of course dunking each other. We are having a great time. Sorry, no pictures yet!

San Diego ZOO

Saturday Jan. 3, 2009
We headed out for a fun day at the
World Famous San Diego Zoo! We got there and jumped on the tour bus first thing. It takes you all through the park so you can get a birds eye view of the park from the top of the double deck no less. We enjoyed that and we were so excited to see all the animals! It was pretty funny how many animals the kids already knew by name! We say Marty, Melman, Gloria & Alex! We saw Horton the elephant, Timon & Pumba. Kerchak, and all the gorillas. And PO the panda! And so many more I cant remember!
We rode the sky ride that takes you across the whole zoo 3 times that was cool! We Absolutely fell in love with the monkey's and Orangutan's! We stood and watched them for about and hour it seemed! we got some great video of them wrestling around together on our phones! we will try to attach it if we can figure that out. We could have stayed all day there! The Tigers, Lions, Mt.Lion, Spotted Leopard, Panther. Were so cool! along with all the kinds of Bears! Every animal was out and having fun today it was great! Sea World

Friday January 2, 2009 We started our vacation by going to Sea World in San Diego! We had such a great time the Dolphin Show was great, the Sea lion Show was cool. But the Killer Whale show was SO AMAZING! We love Shamu! As Macie wrote in her scrapbook "Shamu ROOLZ!" We went on the Raging Rapids ride all together and got soaked! it was a cold day for the rest of the time but we didn't let that dampen our spirits! We had so much Fun our first day, we didn't even stop to eat till we left! I guess Daniel didn't get bored because we never heard him complain of being hungry! If you know Daniel this is a true vacation miracle!!! We did pack snacks and h2o in the back packs! That was a life saver! The scariest ride was the last one of the day the Atlantis roller coster/water ride! Trevor, Macie & I stayed off to watch, Daniel was just the right height for everything! So he went, we couldn't talk him out of it! When he got off he wasn't as happy as when he got on! he said it was to Scary! so we may not be getting him on so many rides after that! The Sesame Street Rides were a blast for the whole family though! I will add photos asap! love you all! Bec & Family!
